Veriflite attaches a combination of Accelerometers and Gyroscopes directly to the trampoline bed. These sensors read the movement of the trampoline at over 6,600 times every second to determine precisely when the athlete has landed and departed from the bed.

The bounce events are transmitted over Bluetooth to any Android or iOS device running the Veriflite app to calculate the athlete’s time of flight.

For synchro, the sensors pair with each other to align their clocks. The receiving device is then able to easily calculate the time difference between landings to score synchronisation.

Veriflite was primarily designed to be used in a training environment, however it is used in many regional and lower level competitions, plus as a backup system alongside other systems. Veriflite is not FIG certified, so it is up to the local organising body to determine whether it is acceptable to be used in their competitions.

Veriflite broadcasts via Bluetooth and there is no limit to the number of devices (phones, tablets) which can be receiving flight data from each sensor.

By default, Veriflite will turn off after the trampoline has been left idle for 20 minutes. The sensor needs to be powered on again by pressing the sensor button. Veriflite can alternatively be configured into an always-on mode which will drop to a low-power sleep state and wake up again when it detects trampoline activity. The Sleep mode behaviour can be changed under the Sensor Configuration screen.

To manually power off the sensor, hold the sensor button for 3 seconds and release once both lights begin flashing in an alternate pattern.

A sensor’s name can be changed in the Sensor Configuration screen, under Trampoline Name.

The new name will become visible on all devices running the Veriflite app.

Multiple sets of Veriflite can be used in the same gymnasium, however as Veriflite sensors wirelessly communicate with each other to score synchro, each pair of sensors use a unique Synchro Pair ID.

By default all Veriflite are configured with the same Synchro Pair ID so that any two sensors within range of each other will pair for synchro. To change which Veriflite sensors will pair together (for situations with more than one pair of sensors in the same facility) the Synchro Pair ID can be changed under the Sensor Configuration screen.

Various settings can be configured on the Veriflite sensor. These include setting a Trampoline Name, Synchro Pair ID, and the sensor’s Sleep mode. To make changes to the sensor configuration requires putting the sensor into configuration mode:

First power off the sensor by holding the sensor button for 3 seconds, releasing once both lights begin flashing in an alternate pattern.

Next, power on the sensor into configuration mode by holding the sensor button for six seconds, releasing once the green light starts blinking slowly.

On the Veriflite app home screen, enter the configuration screen by tapping the settings icon in the lower right corner. The app will scan and connect to the first sensor detected in configuration mode. On some Android devices the app is occasionally unable to connect to the sensor. If this occurs, disable and re-enable Bluetooth from the Android status bar, and then restart the Veriflite app.

Once connected, the Sensor Configuration screen will be shown. This page allows setting the following configuration options:

Trampoline Name

This is the name which will identify the sensor from within the sensor selection screen.

Synchro Pair ID

Pairs of sensors to be used on synchronised trampolines must be given the same ID number. When using more than one pair of sensors within the facility, each pair of sensors must be on a unique ID number. Sensors with the same ID will connect with each other for measuring the time difference between bounce landings for synchronised scoring.

Sleep mode

Power down – The sensor will turn off completely after 20 minutes of no bounce activity. The sensor needs to be powered on again by pressing the sensor button.

Always on – After 10 minutes with no bounce activity the sensor will enter a low-power sleep state. The sensor will wake up when it detects the trampoline is in use again.

Pressing the back arrow will disconnect the sensor and return to the home screen. The sensor will reset into its usual running state once disconnected.
